Today was our first service project! We had a great turn out and were able to make about 25 File Folder Games that will be sent to orphanages around the world as part of the LDS church's humanitarian effort.
I wasn't sure what kind of response I'd get for this service group but it was so heart-warming to see all these dear ladies take time out of their day to do this for someone. Someone they've never met. A very young someone who's already been asked to bear a lot. Someone who will hopefully know they are loved by friends that have yet to meet them. I can't help but think that someday, in heaven, we will meet the people that have blessed our lives. And what a glorious moment that will be when we get to meet these sweet children who have blessed our lives with the chance to do something for them. I pray, as I'm sure all the ladies that helped today do, that the small orphan children will feel of our love for them when they play these simple, cheerful games.
As I looked around the table at these wonderful wo
men (young, older, single, married and widowed) I was deeply touched. It really is the small things that matter most in life. Small things from our hearts and hands.
