December ~ Snacks Sacks for Needy Children

Our December Hearts & Hands service project will be

SNACK SACKS FOR NEEDY CHILDREN

Did you know that 1 in 6 Utah children go hungry every day? Unfortunately, that number just increases each month. Please join us as we reach out with love and food this month!

What We Need:
~ Granola Bars
~ Fruit Snacks
~ Juice Boxes
~ Candy (small, individually wrapped - Kisses, etc...)
~ Small NEW Toys (like party favors - matchbox cars, crayons, stickers, etc...)

How You Can Help:
You can drop off your donations to my home any day before the 11th

Help decorate and assemble the snack sacks on the 11th



Let's try to make as many snack sacks as possible so we can feed as many children as we can! 

Your donation, no matter how small, will make a big difference in the life of a child! :)

Honoring The Heroes

To commemerate the anniversary of 9/11 and to participate in the National Day of Service, we will be honoring the heros who are currently serving this great country! Please join this effort. 

Writing Letters to Active-Duty Soldiers

This is something that truly means a lot to them - more than the packages and goodies, they treasure a hand written note or a child's drawing expressing love, concern and gratitude. It is a gentle and loving reminder that they are remembered ... that they are not alone. 

I hope we get a lot of letters written to our amazing and courageous brothers and sisters serving in the military!

Please join us! It will be a fun and meaningful way to honor 9/11 and The American Spirit. 

Please write as many letters as you want at home! This would make a wonderful family activity.  Please get them to me by September 14th. 

*All letters need to be in UNSEALED envelopes! Thanks!

Blankets for Hospitalized Children

February's Project: 

 Blankets for Hospitalized Children 

This month we will be collecting/making NEW blankets for the sick children at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. 

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

~ Make a NEW blanket at home (quilt, knit, crocheted, fleece, etc..)

~ Donate Fleece (1 to 2 yard pieces)

~ Join us on the Service Day to make fleece blankets
